The Fund invites OR teams from EORNA member countries to submit projects focused on:

  1. Reducing carbon footprint
  2. Minimizing waste
  3. Enhancing resource management

You’ll also receive clear guidance on how to develop and submit your own proposal for the Sustainability Project Fund, with expert tips to help you turn your ideas into measurable impact.

Cathrine Heen, Operating Room Nurse, Oslo University Hospital

Cathrine Heen has extensive experience as an operating room nurse, with 30 years in the field. She currently works at Oslo University Hospital as a professional development nurse in the Department of Operating Services, within the Division of Emergencies and Critical Care. Since 2014, she has served as a board member both in the Norwegian national board and in EORNA. She has contributed to various forums, most recently as a member of the scientific committee and currently as the chair of the upcoming EORNA congress.


Peter de Gang, Head Nurse PACU, ZAS Middleheim Hospital

With over 3 decades of experience in the operating room, Peter de Gang began his career as an O.R. nurse in 1988 and has since dedicated his professional life to the perioperative environment. In 2017, He took on the role of Head Nurse at the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Middelheim ZAS Antwerp, where he continues to lead and support high-quality patient care and team excellence.


Joshua Stevens, European Marketing Manager & Sustainability Ambassador

Joshua Stevens is the Marketing & Communications Manager and a Sustainability Ambassador at Ansell. He drives commercial marketing initiatives across Europe while promoting sustainability thought leadership within the PPE industry. Working closely with industry experts, he explores the environmental impact of protective equipment and identifies opportunities for sustainable, scalable solutions that align worker safety with environmental responsibility.
